Who we are

The OAKS is an Ofsted outstanding provider of initial teacher training, working with hubs spread geographically across the UK. Our mission is to nurture future professionals and give back to the local communities through high quality teacher recruitment, education and retention.

The OAKS Stafford Hub is located in the Stafford area, and the lead school is Sir Graham Balfour School, Stafford.

Sir Graham Balfour School’s mission statement is “Learning, working, succeeding together” and it very much sums up their approach. Staff and students work hard to create a vibrant, caring, mutually supportive climate for learning in which everyone can achieve and thrive.  Their educational philosophy is based around the twin themes of ‘Achievement’ and ‘Personal Development’.  They do our utmost to maximise the attainment of every student; they also place great emphasis on individual character development, personal responsibility and resilience.

The Stafford Hub comprises:

By training to teach within the Stafford Hub, you will become part of an Ofsted graded outstanding teacher training provision. Our trainees benefit from a high-quality programme of in-school and hub-based support and training in additional to the excellent training provided by The OAKS. The combination of these programmes will help equip trainees with the skills, knowledge and practice to become highly effective teachers.
