The OAKS 2022/23 Residentials

The OAKS’s curriculum is purposefully designed to holistically develop our trainees, with a large focus around wellbeing and peer-support. As a large part of this we run three separate residentials for our three main geographic areas; Keele-based, OAKS Norfolk and OAKS Suffolk.

The first of these residentials was with OAKS Suffolk in the beautiful Stratford-Upon-Avon. This was a brilliant experience, with a lovely day around the city and a tour of the RSC, leading to tickets for a breath-taking performance of Richard III. The following day, we were treated to a fantastic voice and presence session within the RSC before heading home in the afternoon.

The second residential was for all of the Keele-based trainees, with our annual trip to Ironbridge. As ever, the Trainees threw themselves into each of the tasks and gelled wonderfully as a group. Thanks to YHA Coalport and the Blist Hill Museum for all of the support.

The third and final residential this year was with OAKS Norfolk over at the Hautbois Activity Centre. Our Trainees yet again engaged with the tasks with enthusiasm, even throwing themselves into a freezing lake when raft-building.

We’d like to thanks all of the staff, trainees and everyone involved for all of the support.
